Electrical.com Contractors Gives The Healthcare Sector The Power To Perform
Electrical.com Pty Ltd, leading electrical contractors in Melbourne, are proving that impeccable work standards and documented quality are still valued with a growing record of unfaultable work in the healthcare sector.
Melbourne, Australia - Electrical.com, leading supplier of electrical contracting to the Federal Government, recently celebrated the completion of electrical work for the Olivia Newton John Centre for cancer care and research in Heidelberg, Victoria.
The project is the third in a series of successful fitouts of healthcare centres managed by the premium electrical contractors, coming off the heels of the renovation of the Royal Melbourne Hospital's Emergency Department and Radiotherapy buildings at Sunshine.
Electrical.com's work at the Olivia Newton John Centre comprised several essential services, including installation of the 1,500kva generator, the nurse call system, duress system, access control system and the communications contract.
Other notable features of the electrical project included:
- Installation of a full C-bus lighting control system integrated into the building's BMS
- Extension of the existing RMU
- Installation of two new HV transformers
- Installation of two new main switchboards
- Installation of a generator with two 60kva UPS systems
"One of our proudest achievements throughout the project was the installation of the 14 tonne generator, which had to go on Level 7 of the building," said Rob Henry, manager at Electrical.com.
"Months of close coordination and planning with stakeholders and the head contractor, Leighton, was required. Precision planning and a commitment to the top-level OH&S standards helped ensure that the installation was completed without a hitch," Mr Henry continued.
Project managers Leighton worked closely with the electrical contractors at Electrical.com. "Their positive attitude and unimpeachable work ethic suited the team at Electrical.com well," according to Mr. Henry.
"The entire team looks forward to continuing work as a preferred supplier for the healthcare sector. The work is extremely rewarding," Mr. Henry concluded.
The Olivia Newton John Cancer and Wellness Centre is on the grounds of the Austin Hospital. It unifies the hospital's existing cancer treatment services as well as the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research. The facility will include medical oncology, radiation oncology, clinical haematology and palliative care departments.
