Cooper Industries Forms New Cooper Wiring Devices Division

Cooper Industries, Inc. (Houston, TX) completed its previously announced acquisition of Eagle Electric Manufacturing Co., Inc. (Long Island City, NY). Cooper plans to combine the assets of Eagle with its other existing wiring device operations — Arrow Hart and Industrias Royer, S.A. de C.V. — to form a new division known as Cooper Wiring Devices. Neal Kluger, previous president and chief executive officer of Eagle Electric, will be president of the new division.

"The addition of Eagle Electric," according to John Breed of Cooper Industries, "adds to the rounding out of the total electrical product mix. With 80% of the revenues from electrical products, adding more products aids in the balancing out of the company revenues. This also adds to the non-utility electrical products offered by Cooper."
