DIXIE traces its beginnings back to 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama. ALUMA-FORMŽ was founded in Memphis, Tennessee in 1961. The two companies merged in 1977.

Although steel brackets, arms and hardware are manufactured, DIXIE's primary expertise is in designing and manufacturing anchors. Hence, we do business in some markets as "DIXIE ANCHORING". We also do business as "DIXIE GALVANIZING". After the ALUMA-FORMŽ / DIXIE merger, additional engineering creativity became available to DIXIE, and the company flourished with new products and patented designs. Today, DIXIE offers a complete line of anchors, along with the technical assistance necessary to service this kind of business, in a wide variety of markets.

ALUMA-FORMŽ has long been known as an innovator. Nearly every product is unique, and in many markets we are our customer's sole source of the items we make. This has necessitated a customer response system which enables us to meet this considerable responsibility. We are very proud of our record. Primarily, our products are made from Alloy 6061-T6 Aluminum, or a structural wood we call "Apitong". Many designs are a combination of aluminum / wood and many are made from one raw material or the other.
