Acquisition Expands Offerings

Montreal - Alcan Inc. announced that it has acquired Prewired Systems, LLC, a company specializing in manufactured wiring systems for the electrical industry. PWS will enhance Alcan Cable's ability to offer engineered solutions to the commercial construction market.

"This is an important step in Alcan Cable's plan to maximize the value of the business," said Michel Jacques, President and Chief Executive Officer, Alcan Engineered Products, of which Alcan Cable is a business unit. "PWS' products complement our existing armoured cable product line and Alcan Cable can now offer a complete wiring system from feeder to outlet," he added.

With this acquisition, Alcan Cable will provide its customers with an enhanced and comprehensive range of solutions from feeders to devices. These pre-assembled solutions are simpler and faster to install, resulting in reduced labour and installation costs.
