Automated Multi-Fiber Ribbon Test System (RTS)

The Ribbon Test System (RTS) performs return and insertion loss measurements on terminated fiber optic ribbon cables, MT-RJ patchcords and other multi-fiber cables. The system is designed to obtain, record and process measurement data and generate customized reports. fiberWORKS RTS software, running on a PC-compatible workstation, controls the system hardware via a GPIB/IEEE-488 interface. RTS permits concurrent insertion loss and return loss measurements on up to 64 fibers at a time while eliminating the need for time-consuming, and often impossible, mandrel wraps. RTS also has the ability to test different cable types simultaneously, and can be configured to meet the specific needs of customers in manufacturing or research and development environments. RTS versions are available for a wide range of single-mode and multimode fiber types used in a variety of applications.
