The new SureTest family of circuit analyzers is handheld circuit analyzers capable of applying a full 15-ampere load without causing interruption to equipment on the circuit. The analyzers are optimized to identify a wide range of problems common to electrical circuits. All four models help identify and locate loose power connections, bad splices or receptacles, loose ground connections and high resistance grounds, as well as verify proper wiring, and test GFCI receptacles and line voltage and voltage drop. More advanced models verify isolated grounds and dedicated circuits, plus measure line voltage drop, Neutral-to-Ground voltage, ground impedance and the estimated load on the branch.

In addition, the manufacturer now offers an industrial SureTest model specifically designed for environments where variable speed drives, switching power supplies, or electronic lighting could potentially damage high tech equipment. Along with the circuit analysis found in the other models, the industrial model captures True RMS measurements, analyzes power measurements, such as watts and power factor, and measures harmonic distortion to the 31st harmonic.

These analyzers also utilize a patented voltage drop test that applies a full 15-ampere load without causing interruption to equipment on the circuit. Left unidentified, excess voltage drop can lead to improper, erratic or non-operating equipment, poor efficiency and wasted energy, as well as a buildup of heat at the connection/splice resulting in a fire at high ampere loads. Excess voltage drop can be caused by high resistance connections at wiring junctions or outlet terminals as the result of poor splices in the circuit, loose or intermittent connections, corroded connections or inadequate seating of wire in the slot connections on receptacles and switches.
