Eiffage Metal Awards GEOxyz Contract For French Mediterranean Floating Offshore Wind Farm EFGL

GEOxyz is proud to announce it has been awarded a contract by Eiffage Métal to support the installation of floating offshore wind turbines as part of the Éoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion (EFGL) project off the coast of Leucate, in the Mediterranean Sea.

Currently under construction, the project is at the forefront of industrial structuring in the floating wind energy sector along the entire French Mediterranean coast. GEOxyz will provide ROV services during key phases of the pre-lay activities, towing and hook-up operations, as well as the hook-up itself, operating from the base port of Port-La-Nouvelle. Additionally, GEOxyz is responsible for the Tug Management System, and metocean sensors will be installed to monitor operations at sea.

The scope of work includes critical subsea operations such as the installation of synthetic lines and final hook-up activities. All operations will be carried out using GEOxyz’s GEO Ocean III, a DP II offshore vessel fully owned and operated by GEOxyz. The vessel is well-suited for this mission, having successfully supported numerous ROV campaigns including UXO identification, cable/pipeline inspections, etc.

With a draft of 6.1 meters and advanced survey and construction capabilities, the GEO Ocean III continues to play a central role in renewable infrastructure projects across Europe.
