Exit Sign/Light

This new combination emergency light/exit sign (EMX series) is for applications requiring battery-backup emergency lighting and an exit sign. This redesigned unit provides more uniform illumination across the face, available with red or green 6-in. letters indirectly lighted with high intensity light-emitted diodes (LEDs). The emergency lights are upgraded to two 6V, 5W MR16 halogen lamps.

Soft-cornered housings and adjustable heads, available in white or black, are formed of UV-stable, high impact thermoplastic that is flame retardant. Snap-together housings allow for quick installation. Chevron arrows are easily removed or replaced to show left, right, or bi-directional egress. Knockouts are provided for top, end or back mounting, and a mounting canopy is included.

A constant-current, solid-state charging unit with surge protection maintains the lead calcium battery. Automatic brownout protection switches the sign to battery operation when AC voltage drops below 80% of nominal. The unit uses 5.5W. EL listed, all signs are tested and certified to the current revision standard UW924 and comply with NFPA Life Safety Code and NEC and OSHA illumination standards.
