Fluke 381 Clamp Meter Wins Three Prestigious Industry Awards

New Meter Is Named Most Innovative Product in Its Class for the Plant/Industrial, Control Process and Electrical Industries
Everett, WA (Marketwire) - The Fluke 381 Remote Display True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meter with iFlex™ has won awards from three leading industry media: Plant Engineering, Control Engineering and EC&M Magazine. The Fluke 365 Detachable Jaw True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meter won an additional Control Engineering award. The awards are the first for the Fluke clamp meters, which were introduced in September 2010.
"These awards confirm what customers have been saying: They don't want just another meter. They want a meter that makes a real difference in the way they do their job," said Clement Feng, Vice President Global Marketing, Fluke Corporation. "Fluke talked with hundreds of customers in the making of these tools. They said they needed clamps that could fit into tightly packed electrical cabinets and around large conductors. They said they were short staffed -- one guy was doing the work of two, so could we give him an extra hand. And they said that the new, more energy efficient systems being installed now were more complex to troubleshoot. With their unique detachable displays, state of the art signal processing and the iFlex probe, the Fluke 381 and the Fluke 365 deliver it all."
The 2010 Plant Engineering Product of the Year awards, chosen by the readers of the publication, recognize outstanding new products that make manufacturing plants run smarter, safer and more efficiently. The awards will be presented at the annual Manufacturing/Automation Summit, March 20-22, at the Hotel Sofitel in Chicago.
The 2010 Control Engineering Engineers' Choice Awards recognize the most innovative products in 30 categories of control, instrumentation and automation. These products make manufacturing and other control engineering applications more efficient through smart applications of new technologies. Control Engineering subscribers selected both the Fluke 381 and the new Fluke 365 Detachable Jaw True-rms AC/DC Clamp Meter.
The Fluke 381 was named the EC&M 2011 Product of the Year in the portable measurement equipment category. A panel of seven industry experts, including electrical engineers, contractors, inspectors and plant facility personnel, picked the 24 category winners out of a pool of over 70 products. The awards were announced at the Electric West Show, in Long Beach, Calif. Recipients of the 2011 Platinum, Gold, and Silver awards, as voted on by the entire readership, will be revealed in a few months.
About the Fluke Clamp Meters
The first clamp meter with a wireless display, the Fluke 381 allows one technician to do the work of two, by leaving the clamp in place and taking the measurement readout to another location up to 30 feet away. The accompanying iFlex flexible current probe allows the user to measure large, inflexible, or hard-to-reach conductors up to 2500 amps. And the clamp meter itself allows electricians to take all of the most common measurements required by today's complex systems, quickly, without complication, and with extremely high accuracy. That means fewer tools, less hassle, faster results. The U.S. manufacturer's suggested retail price for the Fluke 381 is $498.95.
The Fluke 365 offers a thin, small, detachable jaw -- with four feet of coil -- that allows the technician to snake the clamp into the cabinet, attach around a small cable, remove his hand from the live electrical environment, and take measurements up to 200 A ac or dc. Like the 381, the clamp can also take voltage and resistance measurements. The U.S. manufacturer's suggested retail price for the Fluke 365 is $248.95.
