Helix Electric Completes Design-Build Electrical Contracting Project For Burton/Channel Islands Flagship Store On Melrose Boulevard In Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Helix Electric, one of the largest open shop electrical contractors in the nation, has announced that it has completed the design-build electrical subcontracting work for the new Burton Snowboards/Channel Islands Surfboard's Flagship Store at 8175 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, Calif.

Helix Electric is providing the electrical systems, including partial core and shell work for the tenant improvement as well as in the installation of light fixtures for the display of snowboards, surfboards and skateboards. The interior of the 12,000-square-foot store pays tribute to the snow, surf and skate lifestyles, while dedicating individual spaces to each sport's unique history, brands and pro teams. The focal point of each section is the boards, with an extensive selection of Channel Islands surfboards on the floor in the surf area of the space and a complete line-up of Burton snowboards on hand in the snow section of the store. In addition, a skateboard shop features its own entrance to the building and house skateboard hard goods, apparel and accessories.

The primary architecture and construction partners on the project included Tres Birds Workshop Architects of Boulder, Colorado and Turner Construction Special Projects.
