IEEE PCIC Electrical Safety Excellence Award Goes To Jim White Of Shermco Industries

Shermco's training director to be awarded the IEEE PCIC Electrical Safety Excellence Award on September 19 in Toronto.

Jim White, training director for Shermco Industries, has been selected by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers to receive its 2011 Petroleum and Chemical Industry Conference Electrical Safety Excellence Award.

The award is presented to an individual for "outstanding dedication and contributions made to advance and accelerate the dispersion of information and knowledge impacting electrical safety through activities within and outside the Petroleum and Chemical Industry Committee."

White will be presented the award at the 2011 PCIC Conference, being held in Toronto, Canada, at a luncheon scheduled for Monday, September 19.

"I'm honored to be this year's recipient, as I think highly of this organization, its ideals and objectives," said White.

White is the alternate NETA representative on the NFPA 70E Committee, principle Shermco representative on the NFPA 70B Committee, the NETA representative on the IEEE/NFPA Arc Flash Hazard Work Group (RTPC) Ad Hoc Committee, NETA representative on the ASTM F18 Committee, chairman of the 2008 IEEE Electrical Safety Workshop, NJATC National Training Institute "Training Partner", co-author and presenter of Chapter 15 of NJATC text, "Electrical Safety Related Work Practices," Technical Review Committee member for 2009 to 2011 IEEE Electrical Safety Workshop, columnist for "TECH Quiz" and the "NFPA 70E and NETA" columns in the NETAWorld magazine, a certified Level IV NETA Technician, on the Doble Engineering Transformer Committee -- Asset Maintenance Management Committee and Circuit Breaker Committee, the Chairman of Doble Transformer Field Processing Sub-Committee and an Inspector member of International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI).
