Integrated Electrical Services Receives Safety Awards And Reiterates Commitment To Safety

Houston, TX - Integrated Electrical Services, Inc. recently announced that during 2007 it has been recognized for excellence in safety performance at several of its divisions, including Bexar Electric, New Tech Electric, Primo Electric and Rodgers Electric.

Bexar Electric Company, an IES division located in San Antonio, Texas, was awarded the top AGC (Associated General Contractors of America) Safety Award for its exceptional safety record in lost work days during 2006. Bexar was one of only nine general contractors to receive this award based on 2006 safety performance and was the top company in its classification with no incidents and zero loss days at its job sites.

Another IES division, New Tech Electric located in Portland, Oregon, received a second place AGC/Willis Construction Safety Excellence Award, a prestigious award given to contractors with a proven safety record and a cultural commitment to safety. Applicants had to undergo a thorough screening process to ensure that the company has a successful safety training program in place and is committed to a safe work site at every level of employment. The finalists presented their safety programs to a panel of safety experts at the AGC's 88th Annual Convention where the awards were given.

Primo Electric, a division of IES located in Baltimore, Maryland, received the following safety awards and recognitions during 2007:

  • the ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.) STEP (Safety Training and Evaluation Process) Platinum Award for each of its offices in the Baltimore, Washington DC, Delaware region in recognition of its efforts and achievements in the development of a quality safety program for 2007
  • the ABC Virginia Chapter Certificate of Commendation for achieving an incident rate below the national average for 2006
  • the ABC of Metro Washington 2006 Chapter Safety Award for Superior Safety Efforts in the area of Specialty Trade Contractor with over 320,000 man-hours
  • the ASSE (American Society of Safety Engineers) National Capital Chapter Commitment to Safety Award in recognition of achieving an incidence rate below the national average in the specialty contracting industry

In addition, Rodgers Electric, located in Everett, Washington, received the ABC STEP Gold Award in recognition of its achievements and ongoing efforts in the development of a quality safety program for 2007.
