Circuit breakers interrupt and clear large fault currents quickly

PALATINE, Ill. – To improve workplace safety for its customers, Square D Services from Schneider Electric has introduced Masterpact® replacement circuit breakers with arc flash protection.

Arc flash incidents on faulty industrial equipment cause injuries and deaths every year, as well as costly equipment damage. In the past, fused switches and circuit breakers have been used for arc flash protection; the complete line of Masterpact circuit breakers offers safer, breakthrough technology without the problems typically associated with fuses.

Reflecting Square D / Schneider Electric's focus on safety, Masterpact circuit breakers interrupt and clear large fault currents quickly, providing protection from arc flash incident energy that is comparable or better than fuse-protected circuit breakers.

"Masterpact direct replacement circuit breakers empower our customers to upgrade obsolete equipment with the latest technology in arc flash protection, for much less than the cost of new equipment," said Mike Rice, Director of Square D Services for Schneider Electric.

Masterpact circuit breakers are available in either Low Arc Flash NW or NT, or for retrofit into existing equipment. Available for most manufacturers' 600 V ANSI switchgear, the breakers were commissioned and tested by Square D Services representatives.

Custom-engineered and featuring a one-year equipment warranty, these low-voltage, direct retrofill replacement circuit breakers are designed to modernize and extend the life of switchgear. Tested to ANSI standards and built with the latest components, Masterpact direct replacement service offers numerous benefits, including enhanced electrical system reliability, reduced operating costs, less downtime, and reduced maintenance versus new equipment installation.
