McPhy Energy Signs An 8-Year Maintenance Contract With Siemens Energy As Part Of The CEOG Project
- CEOG is the largest power plant project in the world combining photovoltaic energy and massive storage of 128 MWh, mainly in the form of hydrogen;
- As part of this project, McPhy signs an 8-year maintenance contract with Siemens Energy. This contract provides for the planned and corrective remote maintenance of a high-power electrolyser as well as the supply of replacement parts and services to the site.
Grenoble (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – McPhy Energy , specialist in low-carbon hydrogen production and distribution equipment (electrolysers and charging stations), today announces the signing of a maintenance contract for a period of of 8 years with Siemens Energy, acting as builder and operator of the West Guiana Power Plant (“ CEOG ”) project founded by Meridiam, Société Anonyme de la Raffinerie des Antilles (SARA) and Hydrogène de France (HDF )).
Under this agreement and starting in 2024, McPhy teams will manage the maintenance of the equipment that ensures the production of hydrogen as well as the supply of replacement parts and services to the site. McPhy will guarantee the availability and energy efficiency of the electrolyser.
Combining a high-power electrolyser, Augmented McLyzer 16 MW, supplied by McPhy, a photovoltaic solar park, a hydrogen storage unit and high-power fuel cells, CEOG will produce hydrogen then stored under pressure in tanks. This hydrogen will be recombined with oxygen from the air in fuel cells to produce non-polluting electricity 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CEOG will thus ensure the supply of electricity to 10,000 homes in French Guiana. at a competitive cost compared to thermal power plants in the territory.
