P&S/L Introduces a Home Network Center

Source: Pass & Seymour/Legrand
Homeowners are asking for increasingly technologically advanced electrical options.

Pass & Seymour/Legrand's (P&S/L) Home Network Center incorporates a modular design center that configures quickly to support every type of home network from:

  • phone to cable
  • satellite and closed-circuit television
  • computer
  • home office
  • audio

Telephone modules
Components of the Home Network Center include telephone modules that support up to four lines that can reassign telephone outlets in any room to any line. The telephone outlets are also flexible because of their alternate use as data outlets. A home office option allows rerouting up to eight incoming lines to 36 different locations within the structure.

Video modules
Another component is a video module. These allow homeowners to create a video network that can redistribute antenna, CATV, satellite, DVD, VCR and camera signals to any television.

Camera modules
The camera module allows for the monitoring of up to four cameras from any television. Power to those cameras would go through coax cable with no separate transformers or power wiring required.

Audio module
The audio distribution module provides CD-quality audio to any four rooms in the house with each having its own volume control.

Computer Modules
Computer modules network up to eight computer and peripherals to commercial-office standards at 100 mega bit speeds — allowing homeowners to build a power computer network.

The Home Network Center is made of heavy-gauge steel construction and fits conventional 2x4 stud framing — 16 inches on center with no top or bottom framing required. Angled mounts from click-in modules provide optimum room to work, straightforward visibility and fast, simple connection points. Ample entry room for cabling allows for quick and easy installation and future expansion.
