Quanta wins another multi million dollar contract

Quanta Services, Inc. (Houston, TX) announced that its subsidiary — PAR Electrical Contractors (Kansas City, MO) — has entered into an agreement with Everest Connections Corporation (Everest) for the installation of its broadband communications network in the greater Tulsa area. Several of Quanta's operating units will combine their capabilities to provide this hybrid fiber-coaxial network in a contract worth approximately $100 million, with completion scheduled in three to five years.
"With the award of the Tulsa contract, Quanta will now build out three metropolitan areas for Everest, including Kansas City and the Twin Cities in Minnesota, in contracts totaling $900 million," stated John R. Colson, Quanta Chief Executive Officer. "Importantly, Everest has previously announced that they have obtained the financing required for all three of these projects. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Everest in the additional markets they plan to enter."
Everest will deploy more than 3,500 miles of fiber and coaxial cable in the Tulsa area to deliver competitive voice, data, and video services to both business and residence customers. Everest's offerings will include local and long-distance phone service, capacity for 300 TV and digital music channels, and Internet access with speeds up to 3 megabits, or over 100 times faster than typical dial-up service. Other options include a range of enhanced services for both business and residential customers such as voice mail, private line, and high-speed redundant networking. Everest also will provide enhanced network connectivity for government, educational, and public access locations.
