Ramm Replaces Wise at IES
Citing needing a different set of leadership skills, Jim Wise promotes the idea of his replacement as CEO by Dave Ramm.

Integrated Electrical Services, Inc. (IES) of Houston, TX announced the appointment of H. David (Dave) Ramm as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director, effective immediately. Ramm — most recently president of a subsidiary of Enron Corp. — succeeds Jim P. Wise. Wise will remain on with IES as vice- chair. In his role as Vice Chairman, Wise will work closely with Ramm to facilitate a smooth transition including concentrating on capital structure and strategic issues.

Wise said of the appointment of Ramm "I proposed to the board of directors that we begin a search for a successor who could lead Integrated Electrical Services into its next phase of development. All of us on the board agree that as organizations evolve, they require different kinds of leadership. Our mission to this point has been to build critical mass, a national footprint and the capabilities to service all the market segments of the electrical contracting industry. Now, the company needs a different set of operating strengths and leadership skills to maximize all the synergies and opportunities that this critical mass provides. Dave Ramm has demonstrated these qualities throughout his career and was the unanimous choice," Wise said.

"I've been very impressed by what Integrated Electrical Services has accomplished in only two years as a public company," said Ramm. "The integration and organizational initiatives that have already begun provide a very solid foundation for the future. I'm looking forward to leading the management team in implementing these measures and in developing other opportunities and strategic initiatives that will maximize our effectiveness and profitable growth."

Before leading Enron Wind Corp., Ramm served as a Managing Director of Enron International, both business units of Enron Corp. He joined Enron in 1997 following a 14-year career with United Technologies Corporation, where he held several senior management positions, including Senior Vice President of Pratt & Whitney Space Propulsion and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of International Fuel Cells Corporation, and Vice President of Marketing & Sales of Otis Elevator. A graduate of the United States Military Academy with a BS in Engineering, Ramm also holds an MS in management from the Sloan School at MIT and an MBA in finance from Long Island University.
