Shermco Acquires Coastal Switchgear & Controls

Dallas, TX - Shermco Industries, headquartered in Irving, Texas, has reached an agreement to acquire Coastal Switchgear & Controls, Inc., a company based in Angleton, Texas that specializes in shop and field repair, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment.

The acquisition will expand Shermco's operations, bringing the company's renowned depth and quality of service to the greater Texas Gulf Coast region, including engineering and rotating apparatus services, ISO 9001:2008 certification and NETA accredited testing services.

"Over the years, we've served many customers along the Gulf Coast, and this acquisition allows us to provide the full range of our services to more facilities in this region," said Ron Widup, executive vice president of Shermco Industries.

Shermco, a leading provider of electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing and training since 1974, adds Angleton, Texas to its increasing number of service locations, including facilities in Austin, Texas, Sweetwater, Texas, and Tulsa, Okla.

"In a time when many companies are stalled out or cutting back, we're expanding, and I think that says a great deal about our company and the significance of our services," said Widup.
