Shermco Contributes Technical Expertise And Leadership To PowerTest 2011

Electrical Maintenance & Safety Conference in February

Washington, DC - Shermco Industries is a major contributor of electrical expertise and leadership for the upcoming PowerTest – 2011 Electrical Maintenance & Safety Conference, Feb. 21 – 24 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Washington, D.C.

Ron Widup, Shermco president, is this year's conference chair, and will also conduct the Codes and Inspections Track discussion entitled "Restructure of the IEEE Yellow Book to IEEE Standard 3007.X: An Overview of Content."

Additionally, Kent Ahrendt, Shermco corporate standard development manager, will moderate the Cable Panel discussion, "Testing and Analysis of Power Cables." Kevin Alewine, Shermco director of renewable energy services, will be moderator for the Symposium entitled "Analysis of Electrical Insulation Systems: Methods, Technology and Techniques." Jim White, Shermco, training director, will lead three talks, "NFPA 70E Updates" in the Codes and Inspections Track, "Hazard/Risk Analysis – Why Ignore the Risk?" in the Safety Track and a seminar entitled "Interpreting Time-Current Characteristic Curves." Malcom Frederick, manager of Shermco's Houston office, will lead a seminar, "A Primer on MCC Maintenance and Testing."
