The ABS Signal Thrower is a pocket-sized diagnostics tool that lets datacom installers and technicians quickly identify and map electrical, telephone, data and security cables. Designed for professional use, the device identifies existing network lines to determine the location of workstations or phone lines on a patch panel, plus can be used to identify unlabeled or mislabeled wire in new installations.

Unlike conventional signal throwers that must be taken apart to change signal or frequency modes, this device has an external button for fingertip control. Another key advantage is its ability to emit three distinct audible signals. The unit's high-frequency mode provides a stronger signal for testing longer cable runs, while a lower frequency mode is available to reduce signal bleed for more precise readings. A RJ-11 jack lets the user select and attach the most appropriate lead required for the testing application.

The unit is housed inside a durable, moisture-resistant case to assure a long service life. It automatically shuts off after three hours of non-use to preserve the battery. The unit also offers the added versatility to be used independently or to be attached to the company's ABS Tester for convenient portability.
