Structured Wiring is a system of twisted pair cable terminated at either end in an RJ45 socket and designed to support virtually any communication need within an installation or building. Once installed, there are a series of tests that must be performed to ensure that the installation has been done correctly and successfully. The Megger Structured Wiring Testers are designed to help the IT installer or electrical contractor address the necessary questions. The following four models are available:

•The SCT100 checks and verifies UTP and STP patch cables and installed networks, providing simple and instant results via LED indicators. The product consists of a main and remote unit, both of which indicate shorts, opens, pair reversals and other mis-wires on 2, 3 and 4 pair structured wiring systems.
•The SCT500 identifies all common wiring faults, including split pairs; opens and shorts, on both screened (STP) and unscreened (UTP) cabling. In addition to this, it has a built in TDR facility for measuring cable or link length, and in conjunction with 16 available remote units, can identify the various circuits in a network.
•The CLM200 Cable Length Meter is a handheld unit that measures the length of telecommunication, data communication, RF, small signal and power cables on drums, in cut lengths or in installed sections. A library of common cable types is pre-programmed into the instrument's memory, and additionally it will indicate the distance to a short circuit cable fault.
•The CXT100 Coax Cable Tester is a hand held battery powered unit for testing coax cable assemblies. It is suitable for "thin net" applications as well as CATV and RF/Microwave broadcast. Apart from indicating the usual "inner conductor open circuit", "outer conductor open circuit" and "short circuit" faults, the CXT100 will indicate at which end the fault is situated.
