Suzlon Secures A New Order Of 642 MW From Evren

  • Suzlon will supply 214 wind turbines with a rated capacity of 3 MW each.
  • Project in Andhra Pradesh, with a total installed capacity of 642 MW
  • A project of this size can provide electricity to ~5.28 lakh households and curb ~20.87 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions every year

Suzlon Group, India's largest renewable energy solutions provider, today announced an order win for the supply of WTGs for a 642 MW wind power project from an Evren Company, 'ABC Cleantech Private Limited (ACPL)'. Evren is a joint venture in India between Brookfield and Axis Energy. Suzlon will install 214 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 3 MW each in Andhra Pradesh.

This order is for the company's larger rated 3 MW, S144-140m turbines from the 3 MW product series. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply) and undertake installation and commissioning for the project. Suzlon will also undertake comprehensive operations and maintenance services post-commissioning.

Suzlon turbines feature the time tested Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) technology that efficiently integrates wind turbines into the utility network to meet the grid requirements. Suzlon's R&D efforts are continuously geared towards increasing the turbine performance, harnessing more energy from low wind sites, and lowering the cost of energy.
